Egyptian Pop Choreography with Heather
10 Weeks | Mondays at 6:30 PM with Heather Louise
This beginner level Egyptian pop choreography is a fun way to put your fundamental raqs sharqi (belly dance) moves to the test. Learn the foundation of footwork, smooth shapes, and sharp isolations that give raqs sharqi it’s elegance and sass. You’ll practice basic dance technique and put them into a combination each week. These combinations will build into a full dance by the end that you can perform for your friends and family (or keep for yourself)!
Optional performance opportunity for dancers who want to take this choreography to the stage as a group. Must be able to attend rehearsals and budget $50 for costuming (we will do our best to keep it as low as possible).
Class dates: 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17
Performance rehearsal dates: 3/31, 4/7
Dress rehearsal: 4/5 from 11:00 - 4:00pm
Show on 4/13 from 12:00-5:00pm
