10 Weeks | Wednesdays at 6:30 PM with Heather Louise
Slow and steady lays the foundation for fabulous finger cymbals. We will focus on timing, clear tones, and coordination with basic footwork and movement. As the series progresses, we’ll integrate the cymbals with raqs sharqi movement and music to bring it all to life. This class is ideal for beginners, anyone who has never held finger cymbals, or more advanced dancers wanting to refine technique. Please bring your own pair of finger cymbals to class, ready to be played.
Class dates: 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12
The spring session of classes will include a finger cymbal choreography course, with an option to perform at the Al Wadi Spring Showcase. This class is a required prerequisite for the spring choreography course.
